[Θεσσαλίας] Λαμίας ἐρατὰν ἀνὰ δ [ειράδα θρεφθεὶς][Δημύ]λ̣ος εὐγενέτας τᾶιδε κόνε [ι κρύφεται][ὀκτω]χὠιγδωικονταέτης· ὁσίως δὲ [βιώσας][πρέσ]βυς ὀφειλομένωι κανθὸν ἔκλ [αιξεν ὕπνωι].[τόν]δε καὶ ἐν ζωιᾶι τε καὶ ἐν φθιμέ [νοισι ποθητὸν][ἤγα]γεν Ἑρμείας χῶιρον ἐπ᾿εὐ [σεβέων].
Aufgewachsen auf den lieblichen Gipfeln des thessalischen Lamia,wird der edelgeborene Demylos verborgen durch diesen Staub,achtundachtig Jahre alt. Nachdem er fromm gelebt hat,schließt er als alter Mann das Auge im schuldigen Schlaf.Ihn, der sowohl im Leben als auch im Tode ersehnt war,führte Hermes in das Land der Glückseligen.
